Running in general is a love/hate relationship for many but running during the Fall season is the best for many reasons. For most, running during the cooler months with a breeze in the wind helps relax the mind, others like the scenic views of autumn in the background, and the rest just like getting out and enjoying a different season. Below I've listed just a few of my favorite reasons why everyone should get out and enjoy running in the Fall.
Recently I was interviewed by Balance Gym to share a little more about myself, my fitness background, and iRunFit. It's through this interview I'm able to take the time to introduce myself, tell individuals a little more about myself, my running experience, and where I see iRunFit in the future. For those of you who already know me and have trained with me this will be a little reminder but also another great way to learn something you may have not known.
Running alone is a challenge but adding different terrain can make it even more of a challenge and rewarding at the same time. The surface you train on can make a huge difference in both your physical endurance and your overall running performance. So what's best for you? The real answer is switching it up and training on different terrain to help build endurance, gain speed, and allow your muscles to recover properly. Below I've provided some on my pro's and con's to the different terrain runners can use to train on.
Join the community, the Strava community! Strava is a free community based app and website that allows athletes from all over the world to come together as one by connecting cyclists and runners through their online website and app. Athletes are able to create a profile online and then download the app to their Smart Phone to help track their rides and runs through built-in GPS tracking. Once athletes have created a profile they are able to follow individuals from all over the world, track and analyze their rides and runs, publish recent activities to their online Social Media outlets, and challenge other athletes to monthly challenges.
